My parents and I had a great experience getting my Jeep yesterday. We knew we wanted to leave with it the same day. Ray was excellent and patient with us. He got us what we needed to take the car home the same day. He was also honest and very kind which my family and I truly appreciated! He made sure that we were well taken care of. Liz also helped us get the best finance situation that we could get and made sure we knew the pros and cons for each option. I truly appreciate them both. Best dealership experience I have had so far!
Honda City recently was sold by the Townsends and has been rebranded by the new owners as Great Lakes Honda City. Recently, after my vehicle was totaled, I found myself in need of buying a new one. I conducted a lot of research to narrow down the list of what I wanted and Great Lakes Honda City had what I was looking for.
My father established us as a purchasing family at Honda City over 20 years ago. I had also, years ago, introduced my best friend to Honda City and he and his family had become faithful buyers from them. Recently he told me about a bad experience he had there when looking to buy a new car from them. We were waiting to be seated for dinner while he was telling me about his experience when a stranger, who had overheard the conversation, felt compelled to chime in with his own bad experiences. I decided I would still give Great Lakes Honda City a try because of the history my family and I have had with the company.
Walking into the salesroom floor felt daunting. There were about 3 times as many people on the sales floor than there were the last time I purchased a vehicle there. I felt like we consumers were cattle being led to the slaughter. It was so impersonal.
The prices were not unreasonable, but I personally needed them to move the needle just a little bit. I would have been happy even if it was just $100 but they were not willing to budge 1 cent. Nothing mattered to them, not the fact that my family and I had been doing business there for over 20 years. Not that we have referred dozens of people to them over the years, who have become new customers for them.
The salesperson sat right across from me and gave me a moment to think things over and proceeded to go through his cellphone while waiting for me to make up my mind. It was at this time I decided to look around to see what other people were experiencing and it looked pretty miserable to me. I decided that I deserved better. I thanked the salesperson, stood up to leave and he didn’t care that I was on my way out the door. That’s because there would be another person right behind me to occupy that seat.
It is all a numbers game to Great Lakes Honda City. Like I said, they have decent prices, and the salesperson even told me that they price their vehicles to sell and if it’s not me it would be someone else. In the past, working with the Townsends was great. Like the old show Cheers, it was nice to go where everyone knows your name. In the past, I was treated like a person and not a number. I was dealing with a single person for most of the process. Under the new regime, everyone is basically passed around from one person to another like a ragdoll. I am saddened by what has become of Honda City. That being said, this really is no longer the place for me. If you value great customer service, I suggest going elsewhere.
My wife and I had a great experience at Great Lakes Honda City. The salesman who helped us was Matt Noce. Through my time of car buying and meeting salesmen, he was one of the best I have ever met. He is very knowledgeable, professional, and answered all my questions. He helped us have a smooth and quick process of buying a new car. He contacted us the next day after purchase to make sure we were satisfied with the car. Overall, I had a happy experience here. Thank you Matt.
This was my first experience dealing with them. The experience itself was great, they were SUPER busy in the Saturday I was there, I've NEVER seen a dealer THAT busy before. Sergio was the salesperson I dealt with and I can't say enough how great he was. Despite him being swamped he still kept in contact with me even after hours and he was home.
I'm very happy with everything and I would go back to them again in a heart beat.
Decided to head to Great Lakes Honda city because they had a decent stock of used vehicles with relatively low mileage that were priced to move. I worked with Kellen who was able to get me into a vehicle that I was happy with at the right price. Throughout the process he was helpful and responsive and didn’t pressure me. The car was put through their shop and I could tell they paid great attention to making sure their vehicles are in top shape before going out the door. Overall a great experience. Highly recommend!
This is my second purchase at Great Lakes Honda City. Back in 2015 when I made my first purchase, I had listed out all of the dealerships that I was going to go to in search of my new vehicle. Great Lakes or Honda City back then was my first stop. After meeting my salesman and seeing the dealership, I decided that I had found the perfect place. My 2015 CR-V gave me 8 years of worry free use, but I decided that this year I was going to upgrade to the latest technology. It took a few months, but I was rewarded with a beautiful, brand new 2023 CR-V!
If you are in the market for a Honda, make sure you put Great Lakes Honda City on your list of dealerships to visit. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
Had an amazing experience with the sales team. Sergio Abboud was super service oriented and very kind and professional. Will definitely continue to use them for my car needs. Brandy the business manager was also very helpful. 10+ experience!
I wasn't exactly sure how many stars to rate. I would give the service department 5 stars. They are outstanding, professional and courteous. However the sales department doesn't deserve any stars. I waited over 15 mins walking around the …
